Local Action Plans
Over the past 7 years Local Biodiversity Action Plans (LBAPs) have been created by local Biodiversity Partnerships. These documents are sets of action plans for individual species and habitats and identify a lead partner who will work on the plan. The development and the delivery of these plans has varied according to local partnerships and resources. Some projects have been funded and are delivering benefits to the target species or habitat.

There are 5 local Biodiversity Partnerships across the North West delivering these LBAPs. Further details of each and contacts are provided below.

Cheshire Region Biodiversity Partnership
The Cheshire region Biodiversity Partnership (CrBP) covers the county of Cheshire, along with the Local authority areas of Wirral, Halton and Warrington.

Cumbria Biodiversity Partnership
The Cumbria Biodiversity Partnership covers the county of Cumbria, with over 19 organisations and businesses active within the partnership ensuring the delivery of the Cumbria LBAP

Greater Manchester Biodiversity Project
The Greater Manchester Biodiversity Project delivers the GM BAP across the 10 Metropolitan Borough councils through a partnership of public, private and voluntary sector partners.

Lancashire Biodiversity Partnership
The Partnership is made up of 83 organisations. These range from County and local councils, statutory bodies to local interest groups and charities.

Merseyside Biodiversity Group
The Merseyside Biodiversity Partnership covers the 4 Metropolitan Boroughs of Liverpool, St. Helens, Knowsley and Sefton.
